We are breaking from our tradition of not posting on Shabbat, to express our deepest sympathies and condolences to those affected by the shooting at the Chabad of Poway in southern California – especially to the families of those who have been injured or killed in this senseless act of violence against yet another peaceful place of worship. These attacks, against people of all faiths, have become far too common. All of us here at NECHAMA join our brothers and sisters of all faiths and backgrounds, in calling for peace, love, and community in the face of this growing hate, bigotry, and violence.
NECHAMA’s mission is focused on building community through comfort, hope, and kindness – living in the spirit of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) through the physical work we do, but also by bringing together people of differing faiths and backgrounds around our common humanity. Together we can make a better world. We believe that this is precisely the moment to intentionally focus on what unites us to continue the good work we have all been called to do.
As we come to the close of Passover, from all of us here at NECHAMA, we wish you and your family peace, comfort, and that you continue to bring joy and compassion to our world.
Chag Pesach sameach.
