2024 Iowa Flood Response

Iowa Flood Relief

Following intense flooding throughout the Midwest, NECHAMA deployed to Milford, Iowa to aid homeowners who suffered flood damage. NECHAMA’s presence on the ground made a deep impact on the community there, with great thanks to our volunteers who joined. Some highlights of our work:

  • 16 Assessments in Dickinson County
  • Supplied technical assistance to 6 homeowners
  • Mucked/gutted and/or provided mold treatment on 5 homes
  • Utilized 24 volunteers

“The work the volunteers of NECHAMA did is truly amazing! They were quick to respond and very polite and respectful. They did an amazing job cleaning out the basement and getting rid of everything affected by the flood. We truly appreciate their kindness and willingness to help us in this time of need. Thank you all so much!”
– Iowa Homeowner

While the Iowa mission has completed, the work is never over for NECHAMA. As hurricane season continues, NECHAMA will be conducting additional assessments throughout the country. To support our work, head here to make a contribution. We greatly appreciate it!

With gratitude,
The NECHAMA Staff
