Over the last week, NECHAMA Operations Staff were on the ground in South Georgia during the final stretch of our Hurricane Michael Response Project, getting more comfortable with chainsaw work.
Training was provided by longtime NECHAMA volunteer and staff member Brian Krantz, who helps us out during his offseason from wildland firefighting. Brian has been a part of our NECHAMA community since 2012, after Hurricane Sandy. A patient and engaging teacher, he taught our staff about chainsaw maintenance, safe saw practices in storm-damaged areas, and basic chainsaw repair.
We are thankful to have such skilled people like Brian, willing to show up time and time again to lend us their experience! #chainsawtraining#tikkunolam #thankful #disasterrelief
