As Harvey continues to deliver destructive rain to Houston and large portions of Texas, NECHAMA is preparing for a full-scale deployment in response. We are working with local partners to identify areas of need, and when it is safe and appropriate for NECHAMA to enter the area.
Hurricane Harvey continues to devastate large sections of the Texas coast and inland where rainfall totals have reached 40+ inches of rain. We have received numerous request to join our deployment – however, we caution everyone that the event is still ongoing, and we will not be able to engage in operations until it has passed, search and rescue have completed their work, and water has receded enough for us to get gear into place.
