This week is National Volunteer Week!

We want to take a moment to recognize the commitment that our volunteers show every time you join us. While 2020 was a year unlike any other, you continued to show up. Over 150 amazing people joined NECHAMA throughout the country. You volunteered in Louisiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and Tennessee. You logged over 8,000 hours helping families clean up after hurricanes, tornados, wind events, flooding, and social unrest.

Moving into 2021, your commitment didn’t end! From your homes, you logged 150 hours answering 751 phone calls from homeowners in Texas and Kentucky after winter storms and flooding caused widespread damage.

You brought laughter and joy in times of struggle, you brought comfort when hope dwindled. You are an integral part of the NECHAMA family, and without you, the work we do every day wouldn’t be possible.

We miss each of you, and look forward to the day we return to our regular operations and see your smiling faces once again! Thank you for being the heart and soul of NECHAMA. We thank you for your compassion, we thank you for your dedication, and we thank you for showing up!
