My name is Alliyah Adkins. I was born and raised in Texas City, Texas. A small town on the gulf coast.
In 2020, I received a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Prairie View A&M University. During my time at PVAMU, I was a member of The Marching Storm and my instrument(s) of choice were the piccolo and flute.
After graduating during the pandemic, I didn’t have a plan and was unsure of what was next. I decided to join AmeriCorps NCCC and was introduced to Nechama in 2021. I had the opportunity to volunteer for 5 weeks and now, 1 year later, I am now a Team Leader. I’m extremely grateful to be a part of the Nechama Team.
