Our assessment team has been hard at work the past few weeks assessing damage and helping out with needs along the way. The photo above is only one type of damage that affects the residents of Louisiana. The wind of Hurricane Ida ripped sections of the roof off of these homes. Other homes were completely destroyed. Wind damage is everywhere, from damage to physical structures to trees covering roads and homes.
Flooding that initially caused water damage to homes now begins to grow mold on surfaces that are still wet. What is visible on the outside of a wall may be only a small part of what is growing inside the wall.
Interested in joining our Hurricane Ida response? Our team has been working hard in the past weeks to secure a location to house volunteers. Through our ongoing partnership with Missions on Wheels, the team secured a very large shower trailer for the base. It comes complete with 7 showers and a washer and dryer on board- check out the photos below!
We are starting to see large local groups of day volunteers come out on the weekends, and would love to see you join us! Sign up here to sign up as a volunteer today!
Can’t join us in person, but want to be part of the effort? Consider fundraising- click here to start a fundraising page today! A large amount of damage and cleanup remains. As a result of your effort, every donation helps our team stay on the ground another day!
