Eusebio is the third generation of his family to live in his home in Puerto Rico; a home that was devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. But thanks to the compassionate hearts of our supporters, volunteers, staff, and the greater NECHAMA community, Eusebio’s roof was repaired, and the house is safe for future generations to call home.

“Total devastation, it’s hard to even explain. Many people have lost their homes, everything. NECHAMA, I had never heard of them, but one day they arrived and they offered us all their help. Not only do they help, but I have rarely met people so kind and so loving, wanting to help,” Eusebio told us. “They are very sweet people and all I have is love and appreciation for them. Because it is not only me in the neighborhood, they have helped a lot of people and we only can thank you but thank you is not enough. We are without words for the help that NECHAMA has done for us. They are beautiful people and we love them.”

Months later, the work in Puerto Rico continues, just as it does in Texas, the Carolinas and other disaster-affected areas. The need remains great, and NECHAMA is committed to helping as many families as possible.
