Elissa “Lis” Malter Schwartz brings nearly three decades of leadership experience across nonprofit management, philanthropy, and consulting, with deep expertise in finance, operations, and organizational development.

Lis is known for her practical, people-centered leadership style and her ability to align systems, staff, and strategy in service of mission. Over the course of her career, she has served as an executive director, consultant, and grantmaker, working across programmatic and operational leadership and in cross-sector collaboration to help organizations build sustainable infrastructure, guide periods of growth and transition, and strengthen community impact.

Lis lives in the Washington, DC area with her husband. They have four adult children and have welcomed more than two dozen foster children into their home over the past several years.
