On July 11th, 2019 Tropical Storm Barry formed along the Gulf Coast. It strengthened into a Hurricane just before landfall near Intracoastal City, LA on July 13, 2019.
For days ahead of landfall, Louisiana felt the impact of this storm. Rains ahead of the Hurricane caused flooding in New Orleans and throughout the state. There are evacuations in effect, impacting tens of thousands of people.
NECHAMA is closely monitoring this storm and connecting with local and national partners as we prepare for a potential deployment to assist those affected.
In order to assist those in need, we need to raise $10,000 to deploy our staff and resources to the area. Every donation is important, and we need your help! Donate now so we can get on the ground quickly after the storm!
We will begin hosting volunteers after the storm has passed and assessments are complete. If you are interested in potentially joining us in Louisiana, please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form by clicking the link below.
