As a severe storm passed through the New Orleans area, it quickly produced several tornados. The tornadoes caused damage in suburbs surrounding the city of New Orleans. Thousands are currently without power as crews work to repair damaged power lines. An emergency declaration was issued and covers St. Bernard, Orleans, Jefferson, and St. Tammany parishes. These areas saw significant damage from the system.
