Our Hurricane Ida program is officially extending through June 30, 2022!
Now is the time to think about joining us in Louisiana this summer. Make a solo trip, bring a family member or a friend, or organize a group of family and friends to spend a few days or longer as a volunteer with NECHAMA!!
You’ll spend time meeting new people and getting to know some amazing homeowners. But don’t take our word for it, here is what our dedicated volunteer Erica Ewing (pictured above) recently wrote:
“Volunteering with Nechama has been a formative thread running through my life. I have always been inspired by the way communities respond after disasters. It showcases some of my favorite qualities of the human spirit; compassion and love. That’s what drew me to my first disaster response over 11 years ago! Since then I’ve been able to meet many amazing people and travel to places like Long Island, St. Louis, Detroit, and down to the great state of Louisiana. Each time I come out to muck and gut homes I leave stronger in spirit and renewed hope in the way people can come together to heal the world.”
